Tour Of Cornwall 20082nd round of the BTRDA National Asphalt Rally SeriesThe rally is on 5th April 2008 and we are really looking forward to it. After the disappointment of not finishing on the John Price Rallying National Tour Of Epynt we really need to get a good finish to bag some points. Summary: All is not well with the rally car though. We suffered with the engine not running properly on the first round, I cannot use full throttle at all as it sounds as if the engine is struggling to get air. The air filter has been cleaned thoroughly but still it doesn't run properly. I reckon we are about 30% down on power - we really need to get it sorted to stand a chance of a good finish on the Tour Of Cornwall 2008 rally. Currently Ken is convinced it is either the throttle position sensor or the lambda sensor, Hayley however has spoken to Mick our engine builder and he says the engine could really do with a overhaul and rebuild, with a session on the rolling road after to ensure everything is ok and we are getting maximum power, but the cost would be around £1,600 if no problems are found, with a limited budget for the year it is almost out of the question without further support through sponsorship. Keep coming back for a update on the current situation, hopefully I will have more news towards the back end of this week. Update: Having just visited the Tour Of Cornwall Rally website, I thought I should report that the rally has been cancelled due to lack of entries on the event. This gives us some breathing space to get the car sorted but I can't help feeling disappointed we will not be visiting Cornwall this year, it is such a good event to do.
